The small industrial estate where I work is full of haphazard buildings and crates of recyled materials. The shapes and forms have become a kind of organising principle; proximity, contrast, and variety and a kind of randomness within that structure. I like the kind of painting that proceeds from a few rules, exploring the possibilities in between.
